Tipton Sports Academy 1998
The quality of Angle Ring s work is provided by the new Tipton Sports Academy, a project with which Betty Boothroyd, former Speaker of the House of Commons has been closely involved.

The complete project was designed by Sandwell M.B.C. s own architects and engineers.

curved beam sections for main roof spans   The 450 mm deep beams, which form the sweeping curves for the roofs of the main tennis halls, were curved on Angle Ring s cold-rolling facility while the 500 mm diameter tubes for the dramatic main arches, from which the roofs are suspended, were curved by induction-bending, a hot forming process.

The recently opened building provides Tipton with one of the best, and one of the most striking, facilities in the Midlands.
Other local projects for which Angle Ring have supplied curved sections include the Birmingham Snow Hill Development, Merry Hill Monorail Stations, Aston Science Park, Aston University, Kidderminster Leisure Centre, Black Country Museum, Britannic Assurance and Sea World in Birmingham, Cable & Wireless College in Coventry.   Merry Hill centre, monorail station, featuring curved steel
